ESSEX cricketer Ben Foakes has been named in a 17-strong England Performance Programme squad set to tour India.
The Colchester and East Essex batsman and wicket-keeper will be part of a travelling party that heads to the sub-continent in mid-November.
He and his team-mates will spend a month away.
Foakes, who lives in Kirby-le-Soken, impressed with a match-winning innings of 69 on his third youth one-day international appearance for England Under-19s against Sri Lanka in February 2011.
He also featured in England Under-19s’ home one-day series against South Africa last summer, starred during a winter tour of Bangladesh and more recently played at the Under-19 World Cup in Australia.
