Colchester United's Ellis Iandolo wants to bounce back from their FA Cup disappointment with a positive result at League Two rivals Barrow this weekend.
U's bowed out of the cup at the first-round stage after a 2-1 extra-time defeat at Swindon Town last weekend and make the long trip north sitting down in 21st place.
Their rivals are up in ninth, having also exited the cup with a home loss to Doncaster.
And Iandolo is hoping U's have more to celebrate at the end of 90 minutes on Saturday.
"It's good to get back to the league, we're really focused on putting a good performance in and getting a good result on Saturday," he said.
"We've been working really hard this week, and we'll be prepared well to go up there and hopefully get a good result.
"There was some very honest conversations straight after the game in the changing room and then on Monday when we watched the game back as a team.
"We've worked all week on different ways to prepare for Saturday. You have to put that game to bed and focus on the team you're playing against on Saturday and prepare the best we can for them.
"We'll take things from the game and learn and hopefully we can put that right and pick up a good three points."
U's have taken just three points from their last six league games, since their last win over Tranmere (3-0) on September 21.
And 27-year-old Iandolo admits the squad feel as if they should have more than the dozen points they have collected from 13 fixtures to date.
"We had a really frustrating start to the season," he added.
"We felt we probably should've had more points from the game than we have picked up.
"Then we've gone through a bit of a bad patch recently where we've had a couple of injuries.
"Not to make excuses, we've got a really good squad. We've just come away from who we were at the beginning of the season and it'd be really nice to put that back and get a bit of confidence back in the team and pick three points up against a good side in Barrow."
Iandolo has been an ever-present in the league, but found himself lining up against different teammates as head coach Danny Cowley continues to search for the right formula.
And he is hoping the team can show more solidity moving forwards, adding: "In a backline you want stability and through no fault of our own we've not given the gaffer the easiest choices to make.
"There's been a lot of change due to performances or a couple of injuries at some point where he has been forced to change.
"It's up for grabs, any of the spots at the back, and if we can put a couple of good performances defensively together I think it'll be really good for the team.
"To have a bit more stability as a back four or back five, whichever we decide to play."
Barrow have taken just points from their last seven league matches, since beating Newport County on September 21.
But Iandolo says there can be no room for complacency at the SO Legal Stadium.
"Barrow is always a difficult place to go, probably one of the furthest we'll travel this season," he said.
"But it's a really good place to go and show what we can do. We've put in some really good performances against teams when we've had to travel far.
"We're determined to go up there and leave everything we have in Barrow, not think about any games in the future and ultimately come away with three points."
