A darts tournament saw almost 100 players from the community turn up and win cash prizes.

The Tendring District Darts League held a competition at Clacton Sports Bar in Pier Avenue at the weekend.

The day of darts began with the early bird scratch pairs competition, which saw almost 40 players enter.

Liam Willis and John Nelson claimed the first place prize of £130, with runners-up Paul Hawkins and Paul Williams leaving with the £60 consolation prize.

That was followed by the singles event, which saw an even larger turnout with more than 50 players.

The organisers were delighted to see a high level of competition with a standout performance during the first semi-final.

The singles final saw Shaun Fox continue his excellent scoring and finishing form, which had been on display throughout the competition.

He defeated Paul Walker, who impressed with his form from his recent runner-up finish in July’s Tendring Masters Qualifier.

Shaun walked away with the final win of September 7 and £400 in prize money.
