MORE than 80 paddlers descended on Frinton and Walton for a special paddleboard event.
Members of the East of England Paddlesport club visited the coastal towns before paddling to Kirby Creek.
The members were watched over by volunteers with Commodore Peter Compton accompanied by Charlie Inskip taking photographs.
Rachel and Barry Scott led the way in the ‘Hobie Tandem Island’ with its bright yellow mast.
Paddlers were also rewarded after venturing across The Wade with a “reasonable turnout” from the seal population.
Barry said: “You could actually hear when a seal was sighted by the excitement of the paddlers.
“As someone who sees the seals every week, it reminded me how very lucky we are here and really should try and show everyone what our area has to offer. “
Further to celebrate passing 15,000 members and the upcoming book launch, the admin team of the club popped the ‘Nozeco’ before burgers and drinks.
