A YOUNG golfer from Clacton has scooped the top prize after competing in an all-girls event.
Clacton Golf Club's Coco Locke secured the Spring Meeting Trophy at Romford Golf Club, coming first with 36 points.
The trophy was presented to Coco by Nicola Thomas, president of the Essex County Golf Association, after she overcame 14 other girls from Essex during the meet.
Elsewhere, the club's junior players also took part in the O'Boyle Shield competition, with Cooper Hayes coming in first with seven points, trailed by Jay White and Ethan Dalzell.
Helen Chung triumphed in the Open to All Medal 2, despite challenging wind conditions, yielding an impressive score of 92-17=75.
Brett Hawkins came in second place with 89-12=77, Lee Hale came in third with 88-9=79.
The Canny Ryall Cup - hosting 126 contenders - saw Brett Hawkins take first place with 45 points.
Lastly, Clacton's Hoon Locke and Helen Chung, aided by their caddies, Lady Captain, Sonja Strutt and Fi Cope, overcame difficult weather conditions in winning six and five in the first round of the County Munro Foursomes competition.
