CLACTON Sharks Swimming Club performed well at the recent Essex Championships.
The club, established in 1931, saw 16 of its swimmers compete in the county races over two weekends at the London Aquatic Centre.
Notable swimmers included Harry Baucutt who won a silver medal in the 200m backstroke and was a finalist in both the 100m and 50m backstroke.
Emily Turner dazzled, emerging as a bronze medalist in the 50m breaststroke and a finalist in both the 100m and 200m breaststroke.
Other finalists included Grace Turner (50m breaststroke), Chloe Galilee (50m and 100m backstroke), and Ruby Barratt (50m, 100m, and 200m breaststroke). Savannah Barratt made a splash as a finalist in the 50m breaststroke.
Both Emily Turner and Harry Baucutt qualified with regional times and are ranked in the top 100 swimmers nationwide.
The championships also saw three relay teams from Clacton put in a standout performance.
The club, community non-profit based, lauds the incredible personal bests recorded by its swimmers.
Head coach, Lisa Lawrence, called the county finals "the most successful" in her decade-long tenure, with a surge of swimmers achieving top 10 placings and medals.
Lisa paid tribute to the swimmers, team managers, and coaches, pointing to their big beliefs despite being one of the smallest clubs in the competition.
The club holds an annual award night.
The most recent one, on March 9, saw children aged between five to 18 celebrated.
They received 86 trophies and 51 awards, several of which date back to when the club was first established in 1931.
