Chrissie Greenwald, from Thorpe-le-Soken, proved victorious at the International Deaf Bowls Championships, held at the Colinton Bowls Club, in Edinburgh.
She competed for the England Deaf Bowls team before bringing home two third place medals for the ladies triple and the fours.
“I feel so elated I have achieved medals, especially at my age. It shows age isn’t a problem and that bowling is for anyone and is a good way to keep fit,” she said.
A team of six ladies and six men were selected to compete against deaf teams from Australia, India, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
The championship was Chrissie Greenwald’s first medal in an international competition since she last competed at the 7th championship in Belfast, Northern Ireland in 2017.
Chrissie also played for England in the Deaf Home Nations Bowls in 2015, 2018 and 2022 and currently plays for Frinton Bowls Club.
She said: “I found bowls very therapeutic and helped me build my confidence to mix with hearing people.
"Frinton Bowls Club members are so friendly and sent me lots of well wishes and support when I was playing in Edinburgh.”
