FC CLACTON'S all-time leading goalscorer Kevin Coyle has announced that he is hanging up his boots.
Coyle, who is the Seasiders' leading goalscorer with 108 goals, is also the club's all-time leading appearance maker having played 353 games.
He has now decided to bring the curtain down on his playing days from Step 5 and above, after an impressive career in non-league football.
Writing on Twitter, he said: 'Have decided the time has come to hang my boots up (from step 5 and above) due to commitments!
'Had a great career and made some great memories, met some top people and top players at various clubs I’ve represented! #32retired
'Would like to thank @FC_Clacton @Withamtownfc @CoggeshallTown @TheMotormen @StanwayRovers @wivenhoetown_fc @Brightlingseafc @OfficialHarwich @The_Yachtsmen for all having me play for there clubs, hopefully left some good memories.'
Coyle first signed for Clacton Town as a 17-year-old and made his debut in April 2005.
He went on to become a huge player for the club, achieving many milestones.
Writing on Twitter, the club said: 'We'd all like to wish Kev well in his retirement from Step 5 football, and let him know that he is welcome back at the Bowl anytime.
'Thanks for the memories, Kev. It's been a heck of a career!'
FC Clacton have announced that they will be entering the National U19 Alliance League with their newly-formed Sigma Football Academy partnership.
Colchester-based Sigma Academy are a football academy and education provider.
The newly-formed partnership will see them compete in the U19s Alliance League under the banner of FC Clacton.
