IT was another busy week at Clacton Golf Club.
The winter Top Dogs competitions are drawing to a close and in the ninth junior contest last Saturday morning, the winner was Wilf Elliott, with 30 points.
In second was junior captain Josh Bethell, with 29, and in third was George Fuller, with 25.
On a very wet Sunday morning, Clacton’s men played the tenth and final round of their Top Dogs competition.
The winners were John Moore and Johnny Frankland, with a nett score of 63.
In second were Kevin Turnbull and Phil Green, with a nett 64, on countback from third-placed Alf Smith and past captain Peter Hewett.
In fourth place, again on countback, were Gary Roberts and Andy Hobbs, also with a nett 42, on countback from fifth-placed Adam Stringer and Mark Grover.
It was a bright windy Tuesday morning that greeted Clacton’s ladies for their Feburary hi-low pairs stableford and the winners were Judy Speck and Pat Gilbert, with 51 points.
In second were Chris Crossfield and Lorna Forder, with 50, and in third were Jackie Bright and Steph Smith, with 49.
The Clacton seniors played their February fun stableford competition, with 66 members taking part, and the winner was Steve Hurved, with 42 points.
In second was seniors’ captain Joe Middleton, with 41, and in third was Robert Gillespie, with 40.
In fourth was Alan Rolfe, with 39.
