CLACTON Golf Club’s junior section played their January stableford.
Leading the way was junior captain Josh Bethell, with a score of 37 points.
In second was Wilf Elliott, with 36, and in third was George Fuller, with 22.
Meanwhile, Clacton’s men played their ninth winter Top Dogs event on a bright Sunday morning.
The winners were Mark Hulstrom and Glen Harms, with a bogey round score of plus eight.
In second place were Cliff Cullen and Adam Powell, with plus seven, on countback from third-placed Keith Sampson and Dave Lee.
In fourth place, again on countback, with plus seven, were past captain Peter Hewett and Alf Smith.
Clacton’s seniors assembled for the eighth and final round of their winter Top Dogs event.
The winners were Laurie Farrugia and Dave Gilbert, with 43 points.
In second were Dave Holden and John Richmond, with 42, on countback from Bob Black and Alan Rolfe.
In fourth, also on countback, with 42 points, were Jim Wiggam and seniors’ vice-captain Tony Burnside.
Clacton’s ladies played their flag competition and the winners were Jennie Corbyn and Lorna Forder, five feet from the hole on the 13th green.
In second were Brenda Lord and Eve Bracci.
