FORTY Frinton golfers, both gents and ladies, braved the winter weather to compete in the annual cross-country event on Boxing Day.
The course is refigured to make the nine-hole competition more challenging, both mentally and physically.
One of the longest holes involved teeing off the 13th, playing to the eighth green.
Another memorable one was from the fifth tee to the 18th green.
Prizes were awarded to 18 players, with Hamish Stubbs winning with 21 stableford points.
Rob Long was awarded second place on countback, with 19 points, ahead of Jeff Zetter.
Bernadette Sylvester represented the ladies’ section and turned in a respectable score.
The “Ins v Outs” competition was held on Christmas Eve.
In this event, two-man teams of players living outside the gates square up against the ‘insiders’.
Although there were some very big wins, at the end of the day it was all-square at 4½ points for each side.
The ‘Outs’ get to retain the trophy since they won it last year.
