CLACTON Rugby Club return to action on Saturday when they play host to Billericay at Vista Road (kick-off 2pm).
The Seasiders’ last Essex League division one game before the break saw them lose 34-31 at Canvey Island.
Although disappointed at the result, they did manage two bonus points – one for scoring four tries and another for losing by fewer than seven points.
Clacton now have just two fixtures left in the first phase of their season.
The league will then be split into two, with the top seven sides all playing each other again, and the bottom six doing likewise.
Clacton are currently in the bottom six and it will take an extraordinary run of results for them to make the top half.
They can therefore look forward to return fixtures with Kings Cross Steelers, Stanford-le-Hope and Pegasus Palmerians, plus any two from Billericay, Canvey Island, Writtle Wanderers and Millwall.
Clacton’s Kestrels resume on January 16.
