CLACTON Golf Club’s ladies held their Christmas meeting.
The day started with a 12-hole stableford and the winners were Janet Hiller, Chris Crossfield, Sue Carter and Mary Cole, with 43.8 points.
In second were lady captain Gilly Cullen, Steph Smith, Kath Sinnott and Maxine Baker, with 44.7, and in third were Sandy Cocker, Sue Gurry, Pat Cook and Chris Gibbard, with 44.9.
In fourth were Di Kedge, Fiona Cope, Sonja Strutt and Maureen Fisher, with 45.1.
The nearest the pin winners were Janet Smith (second hole), Lorna Forder (seventh hole) and past captain Julia Hewett (17th hole). The ladies then held a putting competition and the winner was Baker (one inch).
In second place was Hewett (one and a half inches).
Meanwhile, Clacton’s seniors played their eighth Winter Top Dogs event and the winners were Richard and Norman Borstal, returning a good score of 44 points, on countback from Brian Walker and Brian Viercant.
In third were Tony Mann and Barry Iugius, with 43 points.
