CLACTON Golf Club’s men played their second winter top dogs event and the winners were Adam Stringer and Mark Grover, with 44 points.
They won on countback from Keith Sampson and Dave Lee, who were second on countback from Dave Reid and Barrie Lungius.
In fourth place were Ben Usedon and Brady Diplock, with 43.
Clacton’s ladies played their Hi/Low Greensomes Trophy and the winners were Brenda Lord and Maxine Baker, with a nett score of 68.
In second were Heather Bradfield and Sandy Cocker, with a nett 72.5, and in third were Anita Davey and Sylvia Fenton, with 76.
Clacton’s seniors played their second winter top dogs event and the winners were Brian Viercant and Brian Walker, with 44 points.
In second were Ray Fage and Michael Gurry, with 43, and in third were Jim Wiggam and vice-captain Tony Burnside, with 42.
In fourth were John Crick and Malcolm Taylor, with 41.
Clacton’s juniors played their first winter top dogs competition on Saturday morning.
The winner was Katy Yates, with 43 points, and in second was Wilf Elliott, with 40.
In third was Henry Goodwin, with 35, and in fourth was Sam Bruce, with 32.
Clacton chairman Bert Foster presented a long-service gift to Sue Pisani, who has been working for the club for the past 25 years.
She is held in very high esteem by all members.
