HONOURABLE DRAW: the Clacton and Gosfield Lake members after their match at West Road.
IT finished all-square when Clacton Golf Club’s seniors entertained their counterparts from Gosfield Lake.
After lunch it was announced that the match – an annual friendly – had been an honourable draw.
Results: Clacton captain Joe Middleton and partner Alf Smith won 4&3, Mick Curwood and Brian Viercant won 2&1, vice-captain Tony Burnside and Malcolm Pitcher lost 4&3, Rick Hale and Doug Nichols lost 3&2, Brian Clark and John Kemp lost one down, Bill Highstead and Peter Wiggins won 2&1, John Crick and Bill Clarke lost 5&3 and Robert Gillespie and Derek Woodrow won 4&3.
