OVERSEAS star Shayne Moseley could be a record-breaker this season, according to Frinton second-team skipper Nick Patel.
The West Indian smashed 133 in last week’s 47-run Marshall Hatchick Two Counties Championship division one victory at home to Maldon.
His heroics took him to 555 runs for the season, averaging 61.67.
And Patel believes Moseley is among those capable of beating last season’s division one record, set by Coggeshall’s Dane Cleaver, of 1,173 runs.
“I think the record could be beaten again this season,” said Patel.
“We’re not even halfway through yet and a few batsmen are in with a shout.
“Shayne is certainly one of them.”
