Jon just misses out on US Open
CLACTON Golf Club member Jon Hewett just missed out on a place at the US Open.
He played in the qualifying rounds as he is currently at university in Chicago.
Hewett won his first round and progressed to the second round, at The Bears Club, in Florida, with scores of 75 and 81.
However, it was not enough to earn one of the four coveted spots up for grabs at the Open.
Also in the field was former world number one Luke Donald.
