MAX Smith had a great day as Clacton Golf Club’s juniors travelled to the Essex Golf and Country Club to compete in the Faldo Wedge.
The youngster returned 43 points from his six handicap to give him the best individual score, ahead of Oliver Reardon (Burnham-on-Crouch) and Greg Crawley (Thorndon Palk).
Both also finished with 43 points.
Katy Yates and Josh Bethell were the other members of the Clacton team.
Although finishing down the field with 28 and 24 points respectively, it was very good experience for them.
Overall, 144 of the best juniors in the county, representing 48 clubs, attended and competed in this three-player team stableford event.
The winners were Playgolf Colchester, with a combined score of 120 points.
