SKIPPER Mark Jones says Frinton Cricket Club are “thriving” and exceeding expectations so far this season.
The club have made a strong start in the Gibbs Denley East Anglian Premier League and recorded their second victory at home to Horsford on Saturday.
It has lifted them into the top half of the table, heading into this week’s match at Norwich.
“We’re improving all the time and doing better than we thought,” said Jones.
“Our aim at the start was just to stay up, so to be in the top half is a real bonus, especially as we’ve played all the top five, apart from Woolpit.
“It’s been a massive learning curve so far, but the more games we play the better we’re going to get.
“We’re still getting used to the longer format and better standard of cricket, but there’s a great spirit and the whole club is thriving.”
