FOURTEEN Great Bentley Running Club members made their way around the demanding Parkrun course in Colchester.
Despite being first back to the bandstand for the club, Mike Belton made it known he was disappointed with his time of 21 minutes and 41 seconds.
Paul Hollidge and Scott Young, who are nearing their 50th turnout for the event, chased each other home.
Hollidge was the victor this time, by 31 seconds.
Taking the advice of his physiotherapist, Charlie Keitch turned the 5km distance into an interval training session and clocked 23m 27s.
Just staying in front of Debs Cubberley (27m 22s) was Caroline Searle (26m 29s). Other runners in action were Ben Ficken, Kevin James, Gary Hill, Ade Cherry, Claudia Keitch, Ruth Metcalfe and Bee Palmer Barnes.
Jamie Neill and Ben Ficken chose to participate in the Flitch Way Marathon.
Although finalised results have yet to be published, Neill completed the course in 4h 9m.
Having turned his ankle, Ficken took the sensible decision to pull out at 21 miles.
Travelling to Surrey, John Booty (pictured) entered his first ultra marathon, hosted by Centurion Running Club.
Runners navigate their way from Farnham to Knockholt Pound, along the North Downs Way.
The extremely varied, sometimes difficult underfoot conditions mixed in with a total climb of 5,500ft makes for a demanding course.
This event has a cut-off time of 13 hours, which Booty was safely inside with a time of 10h 15m 5s.
