BEN Foakes and his England Lions team-mates were left frustrated after the abandonment of their final one-day international against Australia A.
The sides had been set to meet in Sydney on Friday morning.
However, wet weather meant the contest was called off without a ball being bowled.
Essex’s Foakes and his team-mates were hoping to avoid a win-less tour of Australia.
The tourists have endured a rocky time Down Under, following up three warm-up losses versus Victoria by falling 4-0 behind in the main contest against their Australian counterparts.
Friday’s abandonment meant the hosts maintained their unbeaten record.
Foakes plays his club cricket for Frinton and lives in Kirby-le-Soken.
