A fire has destroyed 12 beach huts in Frinton this afternoon. 

Fire engines from Frinton, Weeley and Clacton were called to The Esplanade at 1.58pm today, Saturday August 10. 

On arrival crews confirmed a total of 12 beach huts were completely alight.

A spokesman said: "Crews worked hard in very windy weather conditions to get the fire under control and stop it spreading to any more hurs.

"Fire crews managed to extinguish the fire by 3:40pm.

"The beach huts have been conpletely destroyed by the fire."

The cause of the fire is unknown.
