A CONVENIENCE store and post office has been burgled in an early morning raid.
The Costcutter convenience store and post office, in The Street, Little Clacton, was broken into at around 3.30am yesterday morning, June 12, and Essex Police are now investigating the incident.
No one was harmed in the incident.
A member of the team, who asked not to be named, commented on the burglary yesterday.
They said: “We’re frustrated really. We’re getting used to thieves in the area, it is very annoying, we’re going to lose nearly a full day of business.”
The individual said the store was currently closed for the time being but they were hoping to open the same day.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "We were called to a store on The Street in Little Clacton shortly after 3am following reports of a burglary.
"A suspect has smashed the window of the store before entering and stealing items including tobacco and spirits.
"Officers including Crime Scene Investigators remain at the scene and enquiries are ongoing."
