Parish Council
AT the meeting held on October 5, a member of the public consulted with the council regarding proposed alterations to redundant farm buildings Mill Farm, since it is now recommended that such proposals be discussed with parish councils.
Mr Taylor, of Tendring Council, then discussed the new considerate parking initiative, which included the availability of parking notice letters, which could be placed on the windscreens of badly parked vehicles.
Also discussed was the possibility of a private firm placing a broadband wireless transmitter on the roof of the University of Essex. It was agreed to sign up just in the scheme, but it stressed that the residents of Thorrington be given the opportunity of attending a public meeting to discuss whether the council should sign a three-year contract.
The imminent closure of Martin’s Farm, St Osyth, on October 15, was then discussed although there was no legal obligation to keep open such a site by County Hall, there has been very considerable opposition to this closure and the public are urged to keep up the pressure.
The Data Protection Act was discussed stressing the need for the safe custody of all documents and information relating to council affairs.
The next meeting is at 7.30pm, on November 2, in the village hall.
