Bowls Club
THE finals of the carpet bowls competition were held recently and the winner in the singles was Pam Dawson with Mary Bokenham runner-up. The doubles went to an exciting extra end, with the eventual winners being Reg Stubbins and Sid Holden narrowly beating Rita Sharpe and Patsy Taylor by one shot.
Evening WI
THE president welcomed members to a busy agenda for March. As there were some new members she explained how the programme and meetings work.
A collection was made to purchase toiletry items to be taken to the county annual meeting. These will go to the Revival Centre in Chernigou, where they are needed for child hygiene.
Volunteers were asked to help with tea and cakes on May 7, in the church for the Bluebell Wood Day. A birthday buttonhole was presented to Edna Collins. Ian Rose gave a talk on the Canadian Rockies, accompanied by some wonderful slides, a journey everyone enjoyed.
The spring group meetingis on April 13, doors open 7pm for 7.30pm start.
The competition for a holiday view photograph was won by Pat Willis with Marion Rawlings second and the raffle winner was Lyn Sait.
