Evening W.I.
PRESIDENT Pat Willis welcomed members to the May meeting. Apologies were given and the minutes read and a letter from the parish church was read out thanking members for the help with teas at the recent Bluebell Wood opening.
All members voted in favour of this year’s resolution, regarding improved labelling of meat and fish.
The speaker Joy Link continued her most interesting talk on the Victorian diaries of Henry Metcalfe – she took us back to an era so different to ours today. Her talk was illustrated with photographs and also she had the original diaries on display.
The competition for a thimble was won by Pam Grant with Yvonne Barrell second and Carole Danvers won the raffle.
The next meeting, on June 9 at 7.45pm in the village hall, is the members’ meeting. The competition is for ‘A Boat’.
