AT the club’s birthday meeting on May 12 members enjoyed a glass of wine and a beautiful birthday cake made by president Anne Massingham and iced by Davina Eade.
Members then listened to an interesting and informative talk by Dan Wheals, a medical herbalist, who told about his work and then passed around various potions for us to smell or taste.
The resolution which we had to consider was asking for correct labelling on meat products to show the country of origin. This was passed unanimously.
As there were only two entries for the corsage competition Joan Sell and Dawn O'Neill were given equal points.
The next meeting will be on June 9, 7.30pm, at the village hall, when Chris Winter will talk about growing old disgracefully. The competition is for a piece of clothing you treasure. Visitors always welcome.
