Ladies Group.
AT the meeting on March 16 David Bavister and his wife Gill told us about the coast to coast walk which David and his daughters Sarah and Katy had undertaken in the summer of 2009.
They started at St Bees in Cumbria and walked accross hill and dales to Robin Hoods Bay in North Yorkshire, enduring the normal British summer weather of mist and rain, which somewhat spolied the views but they finished safely and very pleased with themselves! Pictures were shown of the beautiful countryside and some of the interesting people they had met on their journey.
Mrs Bavister was their ‘Sherpa’ and joined them at their overnight stops and for the last leg of the journey. They managed to raise a good sum of money for the charity Whispers.
The next meeting will be on April 20 when Mrs Faulkner will give a talk entitled ‘Yesterday once more’. We would be pleased if some more ladies would join us at 7.30pm in the Parish Room.
