Engains W.I.
AT their meeting on March 10, members were visited by three ladies from Benin Christian Support. They showed where Benin is in Africa and spoke about what they try to do to help families who live in extreme poverty. They help children by arranging and paying for medical care take clothing for them and equipment for their education (pencils, paper etc.) Members had brought along bags of bric-abrac and clothing for the ladies to sell at car boot sales to raise money.
There was a parade of Easter bonnets for the competition and each entry was awarded one point. Final arrangements were made for the Spring group meeting on April 28 in the village hall at 7.30pm.
The next meeting is on April 14 when Peter Mockford will speak about his life as a magistrate.
