Evening W.I.
President Pat Willis welcomed members and guests to the February meeting. The speaker, Tom Totus was introduced, and his talk, entitled ‘A Long Look Back’ took members to Hungary prior to the Second World War and then told of the events during the war with German occupation. Horrifying things for a young boy to have witnessed. He also told of the Communist regime and how he managed to escape to Austria and then on to England where after some time he became a British Citizen and settled down to a much less eventful life.
A competition for something old was won by Yvonne Barrell and Pam Grant won the raffle.
At next month’s meeting, on March 10 at 7.45pm William Stevens will talkabout water purification. The competition is for a handmade bag for the Spring Group meeting competition. New members are very welcome.
