Evening W.I.
MEMBERS enjoyed a New Year meal at ‘Dukes’ in St Osyth at their January meeting. Birthday buttonholes were presented to Elaine Link and Betty Blower.
The next meeting is on February 11 in Thorrington Village Hall at 7.45pm when Maureen Sanders will give a talk on Benin Africa Support. The competition is for Valentine Card. New members are warmly welcomed.
Good Companions.
AT the January meeting Les announced that Dorothy Castiglione passed away on December 28 she had been a member for many years before she moved some time ago. Harry Watts passed away last October; he also had been a member for many years before resigning due to ill health. His wife was our Secretary at one point.
The clubs’ Christmas lunch was held in the ‘The Wooden Fender’ on December 17. 47 members attended and after lunch were entertained by Peter, Chris and Jo.
Les informed members that Ken Sharpe had offered to be the club’s chairman with the condition that there would be normal meetings in the hall only, no outings etc. If no one comes forward this will be put to the vote at next month's AGM.
Our next meeting in Thorrington Village Hall will be on Wednesday 11 February at 2.30pm. This will be our AGM.
