Evening W.I.
PRESIDENT Josie Chilver welcomed members to the club’s AGM. Reports were given by Secretary Yvonne Barrell, Treasurer Rita Sharpe and Josie Chilver on the business of the year and gardening vouchers were presented to Josie in recognition of her three years as president.
The new committee will comprise all of the old committee with the addition of Pat Mitchell and the new president is Pat Willis.
The speaker, Stella Pullum, gave an interesting talk on greyhounds, telling of the rescuing of ex-racing dogs. She was helped by a very friendly and inquisitive greyhound.
A competition for a ‘photo of a dog’ was won by Yvonne barrel with Lyn Sait second and Kay won the raffle.
Our meeting is November 12, 7.45pm, at the Village Hall when Val Gilders will talk about ‘Brightlingsea in Bloom’ and the competition is for a ‘Christmas Arrangement’.
