Over the last few months, I have campaigned very heavily against Labour’s cuts to the winter fuel allowance.

It’s something I have written about at length here in the Clacton Gazette. These cuts will affect over 25,000 pensioners in this constituency and will see up to 90 per cent of residents lose the payment.

When I stood to be your MP, I said that I would use my national voice to represent local people.

So ahead of the all-important budget vote next week, I will personally hand deliver a petition organised by the Daily Express to Keir Starmer at 10 Downing Street.

We will be demanding that Rachel Reeves changes her mind on this vindictive policy, and doesn’t leave pensioners out in the cold this winter.

Reform UK plans to do politics differently, too. We know that the pension credit form features a whopping 243 questions and is very difficult to fill out.

That’s why I have organised, along with my team, a number of surgeries in the local area to support those who need it.

If you would benefit from advice on how to get a little bit more money this winter, come and visit us.

The surgeries will take place between 11am-2pm at:

  • Café Gloria in Frinton on October 23.
  • The Ship in Kirby Le Soken on October 25.
  • The Greek Taverna in Clacton on October 28.
  • The Plough in Great Bentley on October 29.
  • The Bath House in Walton on October 30.
  • The Essex Skipper in Frinton on October 31.
  • 3 Jays Pub in Jaywick on November 1.
  • The Rose and Crown in Thorpe on November 5.
  • the White Hart in Weeley on November 12.

All over the age of 65 are welcome. For us to help you, you will need your national insurance number, bank account details and information on income and savings.

We plan to add even more dates and locations soon, so watch this space.
