TWO men have been arrested on suspicion of robbery in Clacton after the alleged victim was reportedly dragged from a car and attacked.
The victim told police that while driving in Cavendish Drive a car blocked them from exiting at about 10pm, on July 12.
The victim’s car was then rammed and five suspects took the victim from his car, attacked him and stole his possessions.
A police spokesman said: "On Wednesday, a 42-year-old man from Clacton was arrested on suspicion of robbery and has been released on bail until September 30.
"A 22-year-old man was also arrested and bailed for the robbery on August 9, and our enquiries are ongoing."
Paul Honeywood, Pier ward councillor for Clacton said he hoped the victim is recovering after the "frightening" incident.
Mr Honeywood said: "It's terrible to hear about this violent crime on our streets. My thoughts are with the victim who I hope is recovering from this frightening ordeal.
"It's good to hear that the police are taking action and hopefully those responsible for this crime will be brought to justice."
Bradley Thompson, ward councillor for West Clacton and Jaywick, said: "It's such a shame it has happened in the community and I hope anyone involved in the incident is safe and well.
"I'm sure the Clacton Policing team will deal with this and get the result they need to make the community safer."
Peter Harris, Deputy Leader Reform UK for Clacton, added : “I do hope the victims are recovering well from their ordeal."
