AN anti knife crime campaigner has installed a bleed control kit in a new bar in a bid to save lives.
Rob Keenan, founder of Clacton's Save a Life Ditch the Knife, installed the kit in the newly opened Silver Sand Lounge in Orwell Road.
The kit can be used by the public to help those who have been hurt, including victims of knife crime.
Rob said: “It is a real feather in our cap as it is our first public access control bleed kit out in Clacton and that was with the help and support of Lynn Mcleodfinch-Baird MBE Of Daniel Baird Foundation.
“The kit is not only for knife crime. It can be used following car accidents, head injuries and more.
"We are hoping to do some fund raising to get a public access control bleed kit and cabinet in town square somewhere and get more bleed kits in other night venues across Clacton and Colchester in the coming year.”
All bleed kits are approved by NHS ambulance services across the UK
Save a Life Ditch the Knife is set to meet with Jaywick residents for training sessions on knife sweeps.
It will also hand out Easter eggs and Christmas food parcels this year.
