Gunfleet W.I.

AT the May meeting it was reported that the spring group meeting had been a success. Members then talked about the two resolutions, bottom trawling and the imprisonment of the mentally ill, to be discussed at this years AGM in Liverpool. Our area representative came along to hear our views.

The next meeting is a barbecue on June 11 in Mr and Mrs Johnson's garden.


Leisure Club.

YVONNE and Lyn welcomed members to the meeting on May 16 at the Red Cross Hall.

Suggestions were made for a lunch in a couple of weeks time then members played a friendly game of bingo.

New members are always welcome.


Good Companions.

AT the meeting in the YMCA Hall on April 23, our speaker, Alan Hardy gave an interesting talk, accompanied with slides, entitled "coast to coast across Scotland".

It was reported that the recent coffee morning raised £100 towards club funds and that a total of 47 members enjoyed a trip to Maldon and Pettywood nurseries on May 7.

The speaker at the meeting on May 28 will be Dr Pearson on Essex hospitals before the NHS.
