THE STORY of a record company, which discovered some of the biggest rock and roll stars, is coming to live at Westcliff Theatre.
Sun Records, The Concert can be seen this Saturday at 7.30pm.
Recognized worldwide as the home of rock and roll, the Memphis record label has discovered some of the pioneers in the genre, including Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash and Roy Orbison.
Using musical instruments of the era and starring a multi-talented cast of singers, The Concert will take visitors on a journey featuring the music of all-time favourite rock and roll legends.
Show producer Pete Tobit said: “During the fifties, the trailblazing Sun Studio created the songs that became the template of rock’n’roll.
“That's Alright Mama, Great Balls of Fire, I Walk the Line, Whole Lotta Shakin', Blue Suede Shoes and Good Rockin’ Tonight.
“Musical visionary Sam Phillips crafted the distinctive sound we know and love today from gospel, blues, hillbilly, country, boogie and western swing.
“Sun Records, The Concert takes the audience right inside the studio where the magic happened and lets the music do the talking.”
Tickets are available from £25.
