A FUNDRAISER is set to dash through the streets of London... with a giant bouncy testicle strapped to his back.

Barry Sippitt, 29, of Great Clacton, is competing in the London Marathon for the second year running this month.

This time, he is running for Cancer Research and will wear the giant gimmick on his back to raise awareness of testicular cancer.

Barry has been fundraising for the cause since becoming friends with cancer survivor and campaigner Darren Couchman, who started the Testicle Tour charity in Clacton.

Barry said: “I stupidly applied for the marathon ballot again this year and got in for the second year in a row, against all the odds.

“This year, I wanted to do it for something really close to my heart. We all know someone affected by cancer.

“My auntie is fighting it right now, and I have been good friends with Darren and involved there for a long time.

“Darren was the one to suggest I ran with the testicle on my back.

“It’s not as heavy as it looks, but it bounces about a bit and is a nightmare to run with.”

Last year, Barry injured his knee during the race, but was determined to complete and walked the last eight miles.

He added: “I’m the last person you would ever expect to run a marathon, but if I can inspire others then I’ll do anything.”
