A ROYAL Marine Commando is on a new fundraising mission for Leukaemia Care.
Andy Baker, 28, of Brightlingsea, is running the London Marathon and raising money in memory of his father Roger, who was a postman from Great Bromley before he died in 1999.
Girlfriend Becca Ahern said: “It was such a devastating time for the whole family when he passed away, especially for Andy, who was incredibly close to him.”
Andy said on his JustGiving page: “I hope to raise £1,800 in memory of my dad, in hope the money given to this charity will help many sufferers and their families through this horrible illness.
“I am running for my dad, for all those who sadly lost their battle and for those who are currently in their struggle with the disease.”
He has already raised almost £600.
