A BUSINESSMAN has hit out at crooks who swiped his A-boards while he was at work in Frinton.
Scott Johns, who runs Weeleybased carpet cleaning firm Total Carpet, was carrying out a job at a home in The Oaks, off Elm Tree Avenue.
He set up two of the company’s A-framed advertising boards on Frinton Road near the Esso petrol station while working.
But when he returned to collect the boards after finishing the job on Monday afternoon he found they had been stolen.
Mr Johns said: “I don’t know what anyone would want with our boards. I suppose it’s probably just a chancer who fancied the frames.
“I’d have given them the frames if they were that desperate for them. The boards themselves are the important bits to us.”
He added: “We’ve set the boards up there plenty of times in the past with no problems. You don’t expect this sort of thing to happen anywhere, and especially not in Frinton.
"It is a big inconvenience to us.
“They were taken from a busy main road in the middle of the day. We hope someone will have seen something.”
Theboards will cost about £150 to replace. Anyone with information should contact the police
