FOOKES Barbara Joan Passed away peacefully on the 9th May 2024 at Colchester General Hospital. Dearly loved Sister of Roz, Aunt to Suzanne, James and the late Alison. Great Aunt to Isabelle, Hannah, Pippa and Sebastian. Barbara's funeral will take place on Thursday 6th June 2024 at Great Bentley Methodist Church at 2.00 p.m followed by cremation at Weeley Crematorium. All welcome to attend. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, for Great Bentley Methodist Chapel, Unicef or the Pulmonary Hypertension Association, may be sent to Hunnaball of Colchester, York House, 41 Mersea Road, Colchester, CO2 7QT Tel: 01206 760049

So saddened to learn of lovely Barbara's passing. From being a small child I would always look forward to a trip in to Gunton's to see Barbara, either my Grandparents who knew Barbara from the village or my Mother taking me and in latter years I got to sit my own children on her counter as she ground my favourite Kenyan Peaberry. I can't think of Barbara without bringing to mind her lovely smile. I'm sure she has been terribly missed. May she sleep in peace.
