OWEN OXLEY It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of our dear Uncle Owen, in Vermont, New England at the grand old age of 93 years. Owen was the youngest of the four Oxley brothers, William, Bruce, Robert (our father) and Owen, and they were all born in America. Owen will be remembered by some older Waltonians because he came to England as a very young man before the war. He lived with the Oxley family in the High Street (where some of us still live!). Owens nickname was Popeye and he was tall and blond and American! He returned to the States, married and raised a family and worked as a journalist and photographer especially in the oil industry in Saudi Arabia. They visited us on several occasions and more latterly on his own and with Maddie one of his grand-daughters. He was very entertaining, always had a story to tell. Great company and a wicked sense of humour. God bless you Owen, from the Oxley family and all who can remember him.
