BURKILL Brenda 14.11.1921 – 4.8.2015 After a distinguished career in The Civil Service principally in London, including The Festival of Britain, but also in Berlin (1945) and Brussels (1958). Brenda retired to Holland-on-Sea and was much involved with the Gun Fleet Sailing Club, RNLI, Dolls House Club and Embroidery groups. A tiny but dignified lady with a good sense of humour, she was very independent only giving up driving during her last year. Brenda suffered increasingly from shortage of breath and passed away in the award winning stroke unit at Colchester General Hospital. Brenda is much missed by her surviving second cousins, God children, neighbours and friends of all ages. Funeral to take place at Colchester Crematorium on Monday 24th August at 11am. Family flowers only or donations for either RNLI, Cats Protection League or Guide Dogs for the Blind may be sent c/o Co-operative Funeral Service, 56 St Andrews Road, Clacton. CO15 3AP.
