LEIGH Mary Eloise Mary died on Saturday, April 25th, aged 89. The much loved Wife of Eric and devoted Mother of Nicholas, Tamsin and Jessica, had reached the end of her long battle with leukaemia. Her early years were spent in Clacton and Frinton where she attended private schools and then to University where she obtained an honours degree in English Language and Literature from the University of London. During war years she was a Girl Guide and worked on a Devonshire farm. Later she trained as a teacher and taught her discipline to degree level in several state grammar schools. The family then moved to Derbyshire and later she and her husband returned to live at Frinton. A gifted singer she became a valued member of Clacton Choral Society and assisted her Husband in the management of their choir 'Gaudeamus' which made a speciality of singing choral evensong in East Anglian and other Cathedrals. With her teaching, music and art, she was a rich personality and will be sadly missed by those who loved her and knew her. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 20th, 2015 at 5pm Weeley Crematorium.
