TENDRING Volleyball Club chairman Alex Porter has been appointed men’s manager of the Great Britain team.
The 32-year-old will help oversee their European Championship campaign, which starts this weekend in Turkey.
It the latest feather in Porter’s cap, having also played for and skippered both Britain and England.
He was also recently involved at the Olympics and Paralympics, as a court-side expert pundit, and even turned his hand to TV commentary for the BBC.
“I’m thrilled to have been asked to be manager of the GB team,” said Porter, who lives in Great Bentley and is chairman of the Frinton-based side.
“It’s a big job, a real honour and something I’m really looking forward to."
