AN UNEXPLODED World War Two parachute mine dredged up eight miles off the Walton coast has been successfully detonated in a controlled explosion.
Bomb experts from the Royal Navy carried out the explosion at 3.40pm, and the plume of water sent into the air was barely visible from the shoreline.
