THE A120 has reopened after a car caught fire on the A120 between Clacton and Colchester.
The road was closed westbound at Elmstead Market just before 4pm today due to the fire and a "substantial" fuel spillage.
Traffic was diverted and drivers were being urged to allow extra time for their journey.
According to roadworks.org, traffic was queueing westbound, as well as eastbound as motorists rubberneck at the incident.
A fire brigade spokesman said: "Crews were called to a car fire at 3.50pm on the westbound A120 near to the Clacton slip road.
"On arrival firefighters reported that the car was 100 per cent alight and extinguished the fire by 4.30pm."
