The family of a motorcyclist, who died in a collision in St Osyth, have paid tribute to a "great dad, partner, and friend".
John Thompson, of the De Vere Estate, Great Bentley, died after the accident near Oaklands Holiday Park, on the B1027 Colchester Road, at about 10.30am on Saturday.
The 49-year-old died at the scene after his black Suzuki 1200cc Bandit, which was being ridden towards Colchester, was involved in a collision with a blue Mitsubishi Colt car travelling in the same direction.
Mr Thompson's partner, Heather, who he had been with for 19 years, said: "John's greatest achievement was his family. He was a great dad, a great partner, and friend.
"He would always help anyone who needed it. He had many friends who loved him very much, and he will be greatly missed by us all."
Anyone who witnessed the collision, which caused the road to be closed for several hours, should call Stanway road policing unit on 01206 762512.
